The winning artist in each category will receive:

Award diploma
1 year a full page exhibition portfolio (30 -50 artworks) on LeyDan Art Gallery website, starting with August 2016 as featured artists.
Participating artworks featured online on LeyDan Art Gallery website for one year
pdf exhibition catalog, enabling artists to share their success with family and friends
25% discount in future shows, contests and events organized by LeyDan Art Gallery.(Discounts are not cumulated)

Second, Third Place, and Merit Awards

Due to the overwhelming number of the outstanding artworks received in previous contests, we will award second, third place, and a Merit award. The winning artists in each category will receive:

Award diploma
1 year a full page exhibition portfolio ( 20 artworks) on LeyDan Art Gallery website, starting with August 2016
Participating artworks featured online on LeyDan Art Gallery website for one year
pdf exhibition catalog, enabling artists to share their success with family and friends

Due Dates:

May 1st, 2016 – Submissions deadline
June 1st, 2016 – Notification of artists
July 1st, 2016 - Exhibition Featured Online
June 15th – June 28th , 2016 – Artwork drop off at the Gallery for local artists
July 1st - July 30th, 2016 – Exhibition starts on site including the digital display of international artists
July 16th, 2016 – Opening Reception, 7-10pm
August 1st –August 10th – Local artists’ artwork pick-up

Art Submission

5 jpg images of your artwork, max 2MB at 72 Dpi, and a picture of yourself for the catalog
A brief bio, max 100 words
A short artwork statement (word format), please do not send pdf files
Artwork info: title, medium, year, size, price
Proof of fee payment ( transaction ID) if payment by PayPal
This info/application signed and dated (Contact info: email, phone number, website, address). Please sign page 3, 4 and 5, scan and send.

General Show Rules

The display options onsite : digital on monitor for International artists and gallery walls/floor for local artists
The shipping is the responsibility of the artist including the insurance during shipping ( if applicable)
The Gallery staff will not be held responsible for the damaged artwork during shipping or due to bad packaging
Please insure your artwork if you are concerned about it
No more than 30 artists will be chosen for the onsite exhibition, with one artwork each, making selection competitive
Pre-selection will be made by LeyDan Gallery curator, artist Leyla Aysel Munteanu, Master Fine Arts (Canada).

Policies

Artists who submit artwork to LeyDan Art Gallery should be familiar with the following policies:

LeyDan Art Gallery is a physical and an online gallery
Submissions received after the posted deadline will not be considered
Once the submission deadline has been reached, no image substitutions may be made and no changes in submissions or the price of a work submitted will be permitted
Only artists 16 years of age or older may submit entries to juried exhibitions
All art must be the creation of the artist
The entry fee is non-refundable
All decisions regarding art selected for exhibitions are final
All work must remain on exhibit throughout the entire duration of the exhibition. No early withdrawals will be permitted.
The Gallery owner reserves the right to cancel an exhibition, extend deadlines, or change exhibition dates. In the event of an exhibition cancellation, entry fees that have been paid will be refunded.
By submitting work to be considered for the contest and exhibition, artists grant the Gallery the right to use their image(s) for the purpose of marketing. Images may appear on the Gallery's website, on social network sites used by the Gallery, and to advertise exhibitions in publications, Gallery catalogs etc.

Fees

Artists are asked to submit a non-refundable fee of $65 USD for up to 5 images. Additional images may be submitted for a fee of $5 USD each.
The fee can be paid by PayPal using lmunteanu@cogeco.ca email address (when paying please specify exhibition title and the number of artworks), Western Union / Money Mart (to Leyla Munteanu), or cash/cheque in person.
